We created our brand, DH Explore, to represent all our favorite places to travel. We believe traveling is an essential component to achieving peace amongst our natural human curiosities. Our capacity as individuals is limitless and we must push outside our comfort zones to find what truly ignites our passions.

In September 2022, we began our entrepreneurial journey with our company District Heroines. The definition of a heroine is as follows: the chief female character; a woman admired & idealized for her courage, outstanding achievements, and noble qualities.

Our goal with District Heroines is to create humor-based candles that represent all communities in Washington, D.C. Since then, we have realized our passion for story telling expands much further beyond the DC region.

Growing up as sisters in a military household, we have lived all over the country and have met so many different walks of life along the way. Our hope is to induce a feeling of commonalities - a collective mindset of what it means to be inside the joke, part of the bigger community picture, and aware of our humanness. As military ‘brats’ we grew up craving a feeling of belonging, never imagining we would have the opportunity to create the feeling in others through our scents. We believe our experience growing up in an ever-changing environment gives us the knowledge to connect with others on a deeper level. All these places we reflect upon, are based on our experiences alone.
